Copying Froud

Using Froud as the outline of a digital coloring book, again in an attempt to learn how to paint digitally. Brian Froud, the man behind Dark Crystal and The Labrynth, is one of my all time favorite Concept artists and easily one of the most talented artists alive today.

Colored in the top pics, using the bottom green pics as a reference to understand how he did it.
I know, I know-my skins come out too yellow. Something I need to work on.

I feel very proud of this for two reasons. First off, while it is copying a Froud, I did do the pencils and colors. At the same time I think I've started to understand his process for creating characters. I was happy with the coloring mainly because it worked and was quick.
