Personal Projects

These are some of the project I’m most proud of, even if they don’t have the most views or make the most money.

Improv

I’ve performed in improv shows for over a decade, worked as an improv instructor, led corporate workshops and performed in festivals ranging from SF Sketchfest in San Francisco to The Del Close Marathon in New York. This, more than anything, has helped give me an incredible sense of timing when working as an editor.

I cut my teeth at Westside Comedy down in LA, doing improv roughly three nights a week. Groups included Team X, BRUCE, and The Placebo Experience. I ended up getting hired as a sketch writer at iO West, right before moving to SF. In SF, I performed regularly on a show called Night School, with my group EOP. Since the pandemic, I haven’t performed, and I miss it dearly.

Writing

I do a lot of writing. Some is professional. A lot of it is in lieu of therapy. You can see some of these pieces here. There are many, many others.

YouTube

Here are a few YouTube videos I’ve made just for fun.

Drawing & Painting

Also a thing I do.

Not nearly as often as I’d like.

While I love it, it does not pay the bills.

Here’s a video I illustrated myself, as well as a behind the scenes.

Photoshop Classes

A long time ago, I started posting Photoshop tutorials online. I got hired to travel around teaching classes on the subject and ended up going to about a hundred cities. Here’s a map of those.

I also started posting Photoshop videos on YouTube and now have over 20k subscribers.

Here’s an online course I created which has over 10k paying students.

More recently I created this Advanced Course about Masks in Photoshop.

Huh. When you put them all in one place, I seem to have a lot of hobbies.
