A Flowering Method

This image might not look like a big improvement from the last flower, but rest assured-it is. I had a very short period of time to make it in as I had to rush off to the airport so it's not polished as much as I'd like. After doing endless layers of back and forth with the last flower, this one I tried by the books-laid out the pencils, then the base colors, then the highlights, and then the darks. I was amazed how well it worked, and with this method in mind I'm looking forward to whatever painting I tackle next.
